At the Show Do I need to order in advance to be recorded? ~ No, probably not. If you are riding in classes which have riders competing individually (such as fence classes or reining classes) you can be confident that we are going to record everyone automatically. We do not record classes run in groups, such as an equitation flat or western pleasure, unless they are a major part of the competition (as they are as parts of national equitation championships.) In these instances, we will record the entire group, with general coverage concentrating on no individual rider. --- If you are riding in an "ordinary" group class, or showing in a Model or Breeding class, you must let us know at least 30 minutes ahead of time to be recorded.
Do I need an appointment to view my trips? ~ No, you never need to make an appointment to view your videos. We play videos on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do suggest, however, that you come to our viewing table sooner than later, as we tend to get very busy toward the end of a show. We also often stop playing videos and start packing up toward the end of a long day or long show if there has been no one seeking to watch their videos for a half an hour to 45 minutes (varying from show to show.)
Is there a viewing charge? Why? ~ If you are only viewing your class, without purchasing, yes, there is a $10 per trip charge. If other people are waiting to view, your viewing may be limited to two-times through. Many people come to watch their trips with their trainer/s and use our videos as a learning tool. That is fine, but we think we deserve to be compensated for our efforts. ---- If you decide to purchase your video before the end of the show, the money you paid to view the purchased trip will be applied to your purchase price.
Why does my video package cost what it does? ~ To put it simply, it costs us a lot to cover a horse show from start to finish! From gas, crew pay, food, and accommodations, to show fees, equipment, media, and post-production costs, it all adds up, and it is always a gamble whether we will break even or not!
What is included in my video package? ~ Pretty much everything you do in the class/es you purchase is included on your video. If you are in an equitation class and have one trip, you will get your one trip. If, on the other hand, you are in the first round, the flat phase, the second round, the test, and win a ribbon - you will get all of that included automatically. We also include a "musical title opening" with highlights capturing the flare of the show, set to music, and a "closing" so you have a real show to share with family and friends, not just a couple of rounds slapped together. (Note, if for some reason, you do not want the opening and closing, or do not want all of your rides, you must tell us when ordering that you want them left off your video. There is no reduction in the price for leaving some things off of it.) Also, please note that internet rights are not included in the purchase of your video, except as arranged for with a member of our staff.
Can I pick up my video at the show, or do you send it out later? ~ We do not make any custom videos on the show grounds, both because we are very busy when on the show grounds, and because the equipment to produce your video does "not do well" in the crazy weather we encounter at shows, from blazing heat to hurricanes and snowstorms! Therefore, we make all our customers' videos in our studio after the show. The first videos usually are sent out by the Wednesday after the show's end, and rarely take us more than a few days to complete all videos ordered. If you are ordering a physical device (USB drive) it will be sent to you via USPS; YouTube links are sent from our YT channel or Terry's email address to the email address you provide. Emailed links are sent via DropBox, so you must have a DB account to use this option. (Video files are too big to be sent through ordinary email.)
Can my video order be rushed? If so, is there an extra cost? ~ Yes, if you have a real reason for needing your video to be rushed, we will do everything we can to accommodate your "rush request," and - no - we do not charge extra for the fast production turnaround. Remember, though, that everyone is eager to get his/her video quickly, and every rushed-order makes all of the others take longer to complete, because we do them in class-groupings. Note that if you are ordering a USB drive and request USPS Express Mail or Federal Express delivery, there will be an additional charge for that!
After the Show Note that we have all our master recordings back to 1996 (with a great many digitized now) and orders can be placed any time after the show has ended. If you know your name and/or the horse's name, the horse show, and a good guess what year you want to order, we can probably find it and produce your order for you!!!
At this point, however, all old show footage is archived, and so a premium added to the cost of your order, to cover the cost of archiving/storage, research, etc. Additionally, when you ask us to find your old video, you will be asked to provide credit card information to secure your order. If you decide not to proceed with the purchase for some reason after we have researched/found your records/footage, your card will be charged for our research time and effort. The minimum charge for this is $15, with a maximum of $50.
Finally, note that we no longer have the master recordings from the shows we covered from 1982-1995, as we donated them to the AHSA/USEF some years ago.
